They won't. Nor will they spend any money to market it. For some reason Sony just refuses to make the necessary effort to sell more phones. For reasons best known to themselves.

@@jasonmays1844 wouldn’t sell well still, their hardware on paper is great but when using it’s just mediocre at best. The cameras even with raw on manual mode are just underwhelming when you consider you are paying 1300 dollars

@@SRC267 i cant believe is a software issue. all the xperia getting warmer than other android phone dont know why. this is the one thing making me not sure to buy one. i had samsung apple htc all brands but sony was always warmer in the hand. it feels like your hand is burning i know is not but kinda unconmfortable.
@@Haris-XIIIiPhone 15 Pro and Pixel 8 aren't much better, they also become pretty hot in spite of the many updates they got if you have them in mind. But, you are right, the IV was a league of its own, had it until summer of 2023, hope Sony fixed it thoroughly because you couldn’t make use of 4k recording at all
@Haris-XIII I had Sony Xperia 5 iii, it was basically a heater. Sold it, and now I'm using Samsung s23 ultra

All of the Xperia One models have 4K capabilities, it's the Xperia 5 and Xperia 10 models which lacked that capability
There's zero chance you can see the difference in use. It just wastes battery and makes it more expensive.

Yeah... I'm on the same page with you unfortunately. Bought the black Xperia 1 V in December last year and it's hard to believe in few months from now I will have almost completely outdated device which cost me more then others charge and they come with 5 or 7 years of software support. That just doesn't leave a good after taste. 3 Android versions + 1 year of security patches should be minimum for all mid-rangers and 4 + 1 should be mandatory for the flagship class.
People tend to have their devices for longer then few years ago. Me included. The only thing I'm scared of on Pixel devices is their chipset or rather infamous relation with Samsung foundry which produces custom chipsets called Tensor for Google Pixel phones. Tensor chipsets are performance wise always around 2 generations behind the Snapdragon flagship chipsets and they're prone to overheat. So, yeah.. it seems slowly but surely I'm leaning more to Pixels even I have big respect for what Sony is doing with their cameras. My wife always buys a Samsung Ultra or some S model and they are good, but for me too generic and boring, also I don't like the One UI. It's way too clustered with too many options I never asked for nor I ever have a need to use. It's just slowing the phone for no reason and it's somewhat slower to use sometimes. I like Pixel's UI more as they have clean stock Android, the same as on Xperia phones. If Pixel's switch to producing their chipsets in TSMC factory instead of Samsung's... Then they can expect a new buyer. Me.
Of course if Xperia proves to have improved its software support and extended it to be more in line with other flagship phones, then I would be more than happy to stay with Sony as they are really great premium devices.

I've been a big fan of Sony for many years and have only used Sony phones. Last year, I upgraded from the Xperia XZ Premium to the 1V, which I imported from Japan. It cost me a big chunk of money. I got the most advanced chipset available in my phone at that time and had 1.5TB of storage. While 5G phones were great, I was disappointed to find out that the signal on my 1V wasn't strong. With my XZ Premium on a 4G network, I used to get a very strong connection even when iPhones weren't working around me. To be fair, all I did was get the same SIM card insert into new one.
One thing that I don't understand is why Sony exports their best camera technology to other brands like Samsung and Huawei's flagship, but doesn't invest in their own Xperia brand. This is very dissatisfying. Although the 1V camera is good, it's not great. Sometimes I struggle to remember all the functions between different models, not to mention that I haven't tried enough of the video and cinema mode.
This is a competitive world, and Sony should strive to keep their loyal users satisfied.
I have patiently waited a few years to upgrade from the XZ Premium to the 1V. Every year, when the new model was released, I did not feel it was worth upgrading. There were always features that Sony did not include in their latest model compared to the older one or the similar models available in the market. They never push to create one hell of a model that can dominate that year or become someone's forever memory!
It's like Apple, where you have to pay a lot of money for just a slight upgrade, all to keep the shareholders happy, rather than focusing on research and development. I'm not sure that's the case for Sony to keep greedy shareholders happy, but Sony, please think about it!
Looking forward to it. I wish Sony would release more handsets. It would be good to release a completely new model rather than just tweaking the same model every year.

Really liked the XZ Premium. Sony always has the best PPI thats why the visuals are always SHARP!

Sony should start selling smartphones at 25k - 30k pricerange in India. They were one of the best in segments. I hope they start mid range smartphones soon

I would like a 300mm optical reach if that is possible and drop out pixel binning it's just a gimmick. Full uncompressed unbinned RAW is has more fine detail and looks more organic.

I just ordered my Xperia 1 V - New Exmor T for mobile sensor and 4K HDR OLED display only at €1,179.00.
SE P series phones were ahead of its time. P800,P900, P910. Then the iPhone came.
Bring back the 960 fps in better 2K or 4K quality with two second burst record time instead of 0.20 seconds record time. Also, add end trigger for easier slowmotion capture.
Love it. Hope these get the recognition they deserve in the states. Best phone Ive ever had
